Lubrication charting and recommendations are an integral part of any preventive maintenance program. Tri County Petroleum lubrication charting consists of the following:
1. Lubricant Recommendations: Lubricant recommendations are provided for each component
of every section of the plant.
2. Service frequencies (how often to inspect system/fluid levels)
3. Change out Intervals (synchronized with current PM program & adjusted according to product selection and operating environment)
4. Method of Application are provided for each component
Lubricants & Service Frequencies are selected upon the following criteria:
- Manufacturer’s Recommendations
- Operating Environment/Conditions
(ie: Ambient/operating temperatures, potential of moisture/water contamination, system design - breather integrity, contamination)
- Lubrication Service Availability (ie: extended service intervals)
- Lubricant Consolidation
- Innovative Product Technology (ie: utilize latest technology)
Tri County Petroleum engineers will research and compile a complete list of all equipment utilized by our customers. For Mobile equipment, we will create a customized, 1-page, color, laminated Lubrication Chart listing all equipment. **
Misapplication/Commingling of Products
Product consolidation will reduce the possibility of misapplication/commingling of lubricants. Using the wrong fluid may cause hydraulic system performance problems. Too high of a viscosity will cause excessive heat generation and possible pump cavitation. Too light of a viscosity may cause internal leakage and increased wear. System components may operate sluggishly and tolerances of finished material may be compromised.
